By day I am an experienced management consultant who has a passion for helping people live a more resilient life.
THE FULL STORY
I am a Cali girl living in Brooklyn, NY, not before making a 10 year stop in Washington, D.C. for 10 years.
I was raised by my aunt, and uncle as my biological mother wasn’t able to care for me. I was raised with my cousins whom I refer to as my siblings, because they are my siblings. I am the second oldest of the bunch. I have 3 sisters and one brother.
My parents raised us doing the best they could with what they had.
Speeding up a few years
I went to college at California State University, Northridge majoring in accounting. After college I took a job at a small CPA firm because my grades weren’t good enough get into a big 4 accounting firm and we dipped into a recession.
I got married to the love of my life and moved to D.C.
In D.C. I pursued my M.B.A at the Johns Hopkins University while we were deep in the Great Recession.
After graduation I went to the firm that I always wanted to work at as a management consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Then trouble entered paradise….
My marriage failed and my husband and I decided to separate.
We never were able to reconcile our marriage so we ended it officially.
One week later…
I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Breast Cancer…
I would have to say that I had officially hit rock bottom at that point.
I found myself over the next year having to repair myself physically and emotionally.
While I was recovering from my trauma I often heard people telling me I was doing well and then I realized my gift that I need to share.
My resilience comes easy to me but I need to share this with the world.
I invite you to join the resilience revolution. It’s about taking back control over your HEALTH, FITNESS, and your CAREER. These are all pillars of having a rich life and nobody really shows us how to thrive.
